Privacy & student data
Only the information needed to run the line.
Bucs Pass is designed for one narrow classroom purpose. This notice explains what the app uses, what appears publicly, and what remains in the teacher-only view.

Information the app uses
The teacher roster includes each student’s ID, first name, last name, and class period or periods. When a student uses the queue, the app records the class period, date, queue time, status, time their turn started, and return or cancellation time when applicable.
What other students can see
The live board may show a student’s first name, numbered place in line, whether it is their turn, and how long the current trip has lasted. It does not display student IDs, last names, or a student’s historical visit count.
How the information is used
Information is used to confirm that a student belongs to the current class, operate the live queue, and let the teacher review restroom frequency by student and date range. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used for automated grading.
Access and device storage
The roster and visit reports are available through a passcode-protected teacher dashboard. Student IDs act only as roster lookup codes; they are not passwords and should not be treated as authentication for sensitive records.
The app does not intentionally include advertising or analytics trackers. A strictly functional, HTTP-only cookie keeps an authorized teacher signed in for up to eight hours. A display device may also save its portrait or landscape preference on that device.
Storage and retention
The site runs on managed hosting, and roster and visit data are stored in its managed database. Visit history is retained for teacher frequency reports. This MVP does not yet enforce an automatic deletion schedule; any broader use should follow school and district retention guidance.
Questions, corrections, or concerns
Students, families, and HCPS staff can contact Mr. Monsky through Buchanan Middle School’s normal communication channels to ask a question, request a correction, or report a privacy or security concern.
